Bubbles was my most difficult character to cosplay simply because I had to wear blonde hair. I always believe that my skin with blonde hair doesn’t mash well.
I found my wig on Amazon. I went to Amazon and shopped around for some blonde front lace wigs. I was debating if I was going to go with the cheapest option, which was about 15/20 bucks. A more medium option would be looking about 50 to 60 bucks. On the higher end the wigs were going to be over $100. I picked a 50/60-dollar wig. I loved the way the wig felt, but I hate how it looked on me. Hey! I need to complete the look.
Next, I was trying to figure out a make up look. I started searching on Pinterest, which is the main source I like to visit. I get my ideas sometimes during a Google search. Instagram is another place look for make up looks. I was looking at blue makeup themes and natural themes. I eventually settled on a blue eyeshadow look. I tried to do a little bit of contour and highlight for my face. Since my blue eyes was really loud and intense, I opted for my natural lip color. I feel like if I put on any other color lipstick/lip-gloss it would be too much.
Another reason why my eyes were kind of intense was because I got blue contacts. I found the contacts from a website called Lensweets (you can use the discount on the Discount section of the website). I decided to wear blue, because Bubbles have blue eyes. However, when I put the contacts in, I’m not going to lie, I was kind of nervous. The contacts seemed like a bluish greenish color, but when you look at the photos and reels it works perfectly. I would call it an unexpected Success.
As for my outfit for the photo shoot, I was going for a Star Wars and Powerpuff Girl combination. I was looking at photos of different Star Wars characters. I noticed people wearing different white cream outfits. I thought these colors and outfits would be perfect for Bubbles, because she’s blue and has blonde hair.
I found a blue light saber on Amazon. However, it wasn’t that bright. So, during the photo shoot, I had to use the photographer’s light stick and we were able to change the light to blue. The light stick gave the amount of light we needed to do the Star Wars look. During the shoot I was trying to portray fighting or getting ready to fight. To catch some good shots, I am random with my poses. Sometimes the most awkward poses makes for a good photo.
As for my reels and other short form videos I didn’t want to do my Star Wars look. I plan to make that decision for all of the Powerpuff Girls. I opted to do a closet cosplay with a blue dress that I already own. I felt like if I did the Star Wars and power puff combination for reels wouldn’t make sense for my audience. However, for the photoshoot it my concept was beautifully done in my opinion.
